HTC Touch Diamond P3702 released

image

HTC released a new version of its HTC Touch Diamond in Taiwan dubbed HTC Touch Diamond P3702.
The HTC Touch Diamond P3702 features as far as I can see the same specifications as the Touch Diamond available in several markets today.
The P3702 has a more round case design. Supposedly the Taiwanese consumer is not into diamond edges. The images published on the Taiwanese carrier site are not clearly showing the backside of the phone, so it is hard to tell how the Touch Diamond looks without diamonds.
The HTC Touch Diamond P3702 is offered by Taiwan mobile.
See also the myfone P3702 site (Taiwanese) and this HTC announcement (Taiwanese).

Windows Live Messenger, Hotmail available for BlackBerry

image While Live Messenger was only available on certain carriers earlier when the BlackBerry Instant Messaging Clients review was underway, it just recently opened up and is available for free download. All the usual goodies are there, like smileys and status messages, but it looks like this launch is also being accompanied by a Live Hotmail app as well, offering free push e-mail from your Hotmail inbox.

BlackBerry Bold due from T-Mobile in July with $140 pricetag

While Rogers and AT&T dates for BlackBerry 9000 launches have been ball-parked to late summer, we’ve heard little from the other side of the pond until now. T-Mobile’s site is showing off the Bold due in “Juli”, and carrying a €550 ($US 860) pricetag without contract and as low as €90 ($US 140) with an agreement, which should give us a good idea of how much we can expect to dish out when the thing lands up here. Pretty affordable with the plan, and with rumours of the Kickstart’s pricetag, it looks like we’re looking at some competitive prices all around for the next batch of devices.

T-Mobile’s BlackBerry Pearl 8120 with UMA

The BlackBerry Pearl has gone a long way towards positioning the formerly business-centric handsets closer to consumers. Though the handset requires a monthly subscription to the BlackBerry back end support, the more phone-like form factor and new multimedia capabilities appeal to consumers. The latest update, the BlackBerry Pearl 8120, upgrades the camera to 2 megapixels, and also adds WiFi with support for T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home UMA service.

HTC to present its 3.5G HSDPA smart phone ‘TyTN II’

HTC presented its 3.5G HSDPA smart phone ‘TyTN II’ during Computex 2008.
Featuring global high speed HSDPA connectivity, in-built GPS for personal navigation and an innovative adjustable screen angle, the HTC TyTN II packs all the power of Windows Mobile 6 into a unique new form factor.
The 2.8-inch color screen slides back to reveal a full qwerty keyboard, then tilts up to position the screen perfectly for reading and creating emails, using applications, or even just playing videos and games.
The HTC TyTN II allows users to get connected in any country with tri-band UMTS and quad-band EDGE. It boasts worldwide 3.5G high speed internet – HSDPA, at speeds 9 times faster than 3G – and WiFi 802.11b/g to ensure users can enjoy high-speed surfing, uploading and downloading while roaming anywhere in the world.

BlackBerry Thunder touchscreen phone in live shot

Here’s a little something that might put the brakes on some buyer’s 3G iPhone dreams this week — a real, live shot of the forthcoming BlackBerry touchscreen phone, the Thunder. There’s not much info to glean from this image, save for the fact that it will be practically loaded with buttons (including send, end, back, menu, dual convenience keys, volume, lock, and play / pause) and will be headed to Verizon. If the UI is a spin-off of the one we’ve seen on the Bold, RIM could be striking gold here.

E-TEN Shows Affordable Glofiish X610 Smartphone at Computex

Today E-TEN announced its latest affordable addition to its Glofiish lineup of Windows Mobile Professional powered smartphones, the X610. Like the DX900 and X900 that it was launched with today at the Computex 2008 show in Taiwan, the X610 makes use of E-TEN’s new 3D animated finger user interface - seen above.

E-TEN’s new finger touch UI extensions, which we first saw under NDA at the 2008 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, have an HTC TouchFLO-like appearance and provide users with 3D effects and large, finger-friendly buttons and icons to make it easier to control the X610 one-handedly, without the need for a stylus (which is still included). We haven’t seen the final version of the software, but what we saw in February looked promising.

Details on the X610 are otherwise a bit sparse, other than the fact that it has a built-in GPS module, but the device does seem to be the obvious successor to the X600, a smartphone equipped with a QVGA touchscreen display and quad-band GSM/EDGE network support. One thing is certain, though, the X610 runs the latest version of the Windows Mobile Professional OS: 6.1.

The X610 can be seen now through June 7th at the Computex show in Taipei, Taiwan. E-TEN has not provided an estimated availability date or price for the x610 as of this moment, and we are still waiting on full specs.

RIM BlackBerry Kickstart clamshell - headed to T-Mobile USA

image

RIM’s first attempt at a consumer-friendly clamshell is either going to get your juices going or it’s going to draw your ire. The design of the BlackBerry Kickstart is something of a love it or hate it offering from RIM’s Waterloo headquarters. And, from the looks of the Kickstart’s design inspirations - things like mountain climbing gear and sunglasses - it’s clear that RIM is looking to bring some urban-flavor to their new clamshell.

New details on the BlackBerry Kickstart reveal that RIM has packed a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio, 2 megapixel camera, WiFi, and a 3.5mm headphone jack into the device. The internal display is said to be a QVGA 240×320 jobby, while the external one display sports a 160×128 pixel resolution. The SureType keyboard is apparently a next-generation version of the double-letter keyboard, and BlackBerry OS 4.6 is running the show, so Kickstart customers can expect the freshness from Waterloo.
